Position Overview

Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking a Sr. Real Estate Corporate Accountant to join their team in Georgia. This position is ideal for a detail-focused professional with a background in real estate accounting, specifically supporting investment, development, and asset management at a corporate level, distinct from property-level accounting. The successful candidate will manage various corporate accounting functions and play a critical role in the financial operations of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Lead corporate accounting activities such as managing the general ledger, cash flow, intercompany accounts, and corporate financial reporting.
  • Ensure accurate allocation of corporate expenses to operating properties, including asset management fees, overhead, and shared services.
  • Facilitate the accounting integration of new acquisitions and developments by working closely with acquisitions, development, and asset management teams.
  • Prepare and present timely financial statements and reports for executive leadership with CFO oversight.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning at the corporate level.
  • Collaborate with external auditors, tax consultants, and legal advisors as needed.
  • Support initiatives to enhance accounting processes, controls, and system capabilities.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to property accounting staff and work closely with other departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA certification is strongly preferred.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, including 3+ years in real estate or private equity accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate accounting principles, intercompany transactions, and real estate deal structures such as acquisitions, developments, and sales.
  • Experience preparing financial reports and compliance documentation for investors.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
